冒頭の立派な豪邸は，アメリカの中産階級（あるいは中間階級）の家庭でよく見る家の形をしています。わたしもアメリカの高校に通っていた際，卒業生プロムパーティーの準備で，お相手の友達の家に集合して，男子はレンタルしてきたタキシードを着て，女子は綺麗なプロムドレスに身を纏って写真を撮ってから会場に行ったのですが，その人の家は映像の家の造りに似ており，裏庭(backyard)は芝生で広く，そこでグループフォトを取るスペースがある。そういうことを思い出して感慨に耽っている場合ではないのですが，とても懐かしい感じがするとともに，アメリカの中間階級の家庭では一般的な家であり，大富豪にならずともアメリカの中西部ではこのくらいの家は持てる人が多いようです。

このソウルフルなビートは，1960年代の名曲East of Undergroundの「I Love You」をベースにサンプリングしております。

じぶんの曲が他の人にfreestyleでラップされた時，その曲は一人歩きした，つまりそれはヒット曲として認められた証だ，といわれます。

それがまさに，ブルーフェイスの“Thotiana”でした。5年後にこの曲がまだ生き残っているかどうかはさておき，今年の若者の間での全米ヒット曲の一つとして，この曲は数えられることになりました。

ＮＹはブルックリン出身の27歳であるヤングM.A（Young M.A）も，この曲のフリースタイルにジャンプしました。以下がそれです。

これは，オリジナルのブルーフェイス“Thotiana”よりも良いと思いますが，しかし，ヤングM.Aにとっちゃ，人の曲にじぶんのラップを乗っけているだけ。生みの親はやはりブルーフェイスなので，どっちのバージョンがより良いかなんて比較できるもんじゃないですが，このヤングM.Aのバージョンのほうが歌詞はおもしろいですねえ。

題名の“Thotiana”は黒人女子の名前でよくある「タティアナ」。おそらく両親のどちらかがラテン系の血が入っているので，名前の語尾に「アナ」という接辞尾を付けているのでしょう。つまり，黒人女子にラテン系の血が混じっているということは，女体に適度にくねりがあり，とても魅力的な女の子，ということ。ヤングM.Aは女子好きの女子。なので以下の歌詞です。
