たとえば，冒頭の４行です。このラインでは，常日頃からヒップホップと接している人にはたまらないカラクリが隠されています。もともと，これはヒップホップ史に残る最高のリリシストの１人＝レイクウォンがリリースしたヒップホップの歴史的名曲「Ice Cream」の歌詞からです。同曲でfeat.されているゴーストフェイス・キラーのヴァースをもじって，カニエ・ウェストがラップしています。これはカニエからゴーストフェイスに送る，最高のリスペクトです。

こういう風に「元ネタの曲から一部の歌詞をもじる」というのは，実際ヒップホップを常日頃から聴き込んでいる人でないと，気づかないものです。現代の曲に，さりげなく（subtle）昔の曲をほのめかしている，というのは，常に明示的（clear cut）で，なんでも堂々と（in your face）はっきり見せるアメリカでは珍しいことです。カニエ・ウェストはシカゴ市の芸術大学を卒業していますが，和にも通ずる日本的なこの「さりげなさ（subtlety）」というのを曲中にちりばめている，というのは，アメリカの芸術もだんだんと変わってきたことを示しています。いままではアメリカでは白人が大多数（majority）を占めていましたが，現在はそれが逆転し始めている州も出てきております。これまで通例と思われてきた「白人のアメリカ」というイメージや，「明示的で，大きくて，わかりやすく，堂々としたものが一番良い」と当然のように思われてきたアメリカが変わりつつあります。そうした中で，カニエ・ウェストに共感するアメリカ人が増えてきたのも確かです。トランプ大統領がここまで不人気なのもうなずけます。もしもこれが１９９０年代であれば，トランプ大統領の支持率もここまでは低くはなかったはずです。また，カニエ・ウェストもここまで受け入られてなかったでしょう。

ますます多様・多彩化（diversify）する現代のアメリカで，多民族・多人種が「共感しあえる同じ土壌」（empathic common ground）を見つけるというのはとても大切なことであるはずです。その「共感しあえる同じ土壌」のひとつがカニエ・ウェストの音楽であっても良いと思うのです。

先日，８月１１日（土）にカニエ・ウェストは「XTCY」という曲をリリースしました。そして，米国時間の９月７日（金）に，また新たにカニエ・ウェストはシングル曲をリリースしました。タイトルは「I Love It」。

この曲とミュージックビデオは毎年カリフォルニア州L.A.で開催される，AVポルノの大殿堂＝Pornhubアワード賞で全世界初披露されました。

ミュージックビデオはYouTube等で検索してみてください。オンラインゲームのRoblox（ロボロックス）に出現するキャラを衣装にして踊っています。

今回このシングル曲「I Love It」にフィーチャリングされているのは，若手ラッパー＝リル・パンプ（Lil Pump）です。「I Love It」リリースの約１週間後にリル・パンプ自身もニューアルバムを出す予定です。タイトルはなんと『Harvard Dropout（ハーバード大学の退学者）』（９月１４日リリース予定）。リル・パンプ自身はツイッターで「俺はほんとにハーバードに入学したし，中途退学（ドロップアウト）したんだ。ラップ界を救うために」と言っています。
